Isn’t it interesting that you can be at the exact same place as someone else maybe even at the exact same time and have totally different experiences? I think it is part of what makes human beings so fascinating and cool is that we can all see the world a little bit differently. Base
d on our experiences and the places we have been we can come out with a different view of the world than someone else.
There are so many factors that can combine to make this true. Different ages mean you have seen the world in different stages. I mean how many people let’s say 40+ laugh at the videos of a younger person trying to figure out a rotary phone. How many kids never knew about having to wait to see your pictures until they were developed. Each generation has a different set of advancements that they have seen across their lives.
Of course, situational factors can make up someone’s experiences and mindset. No shocker there. If you grew up in a different country, area of the country or social/economic background than someone else you have had different experiences that have shaped your life and view of the world.
So, this is all basic stuff right, obvious to most everyone so what is my point? What happens when these folks with different experiences get in the same place? How can they walk away having a totally different experience or a different story as to what took place?
The easiest answer is that their different experiences have shaped their views. Straight forward and totally understandable. The kicker that I think about is how we can learn from each other in those similar circumstances to grow not only our experience at that same place but moving forward. Maybe if we did that instead of blocking that other person’s perceptions or answers as “I am right, you are wrong” we might be able to move forward together.
We are all living on this planet, in this country or city together so learning and growing together only makes it better. Think of it like a garden, you don’t often see a pretty garden with only one type of flower, right? There are different flowers, bushes and trees all growing together making a beautiful place to experience. Think about it 😊. Until next time Shine Bright and Much Love!
