So, kids seem to have a power button that is endlessly charged, right? Maybe they have like 12 so that when one runs out the other kicks in. Teenagers and young adults still have a good charge on their power buttons it seems they just kick in at different times. You know, the way they can be up all night but sleep till noon, haha! Why is it though that as you get older your power button seems to run out fast or just totally hide from you?

I think part of the answer is we loose focus on what charges it for us. Kids have so much energy and seem to have their power button endlessly charged because they are so often involved with things they love. A teenager or young adult can have so much energy when we are falling asleep because they are hanging out with their friends and having a great time laughing and seeing the fun side of life.

So, after young adulthood? Why does that power button fade? Because we get so tied into being adults. We must be the responsible ones, we must pay the bills, we must pave the way for our families. True and big responsibilities that must be taken care of, but I have a secret. We are allowed to have fun.

We can carve out some time to charge up our power buttons. To laugh and carry on so that life doesn’t seem like a routine of endless tasks before you go to sleep and do it all over again. So, ask yourself what are you passionate about, what would really give you the charge you need? Find it, carve out time for it and LIVE IT! You deserve it, find your power button charge and SHINE BRIGHT! Much love~

Yeah, easy topic for today considering its Veterans Day, right? Well, I am thinking a step beyond telling a veteran thank you for your service. You should 100% do that but I am thinking more about the power that comes from serving.

It doesn’t have to be just the armed services; they are or have served in the utmost capacity but what is serving and how or where does it create that power. The power to serve is created because the act so much bigger than the person or persons themselves. It comes from the act or change they are creating.

Think about it in reference to your own life. How powerful was that feeling created by volunteering time to help clean up a flood victims house or to collect food for your local food bank knowing how many folks would get to eat because of your efforts? The results of your efforts had nothing to do with your life directly, but man did it feel good. That was the power to serve.

As you get ready to thank a veteran for their service think about that power. The feeling you got from volunteering to help someone locally and know that their time to serve others was for years and may have taken them far from their family for long stretches of time. Very powerful!

To all of those out there spending time serving others, well done. To those who spent time serving our country, THANK YOU! Your power to serve has made an immeasurable impact on our country and we are forever grateful! Shine Bright and Much Love!!
