Let’s be honest, sometimes you just don’t have it. It could be not feeling good, it could be lack of energy or creativity. The biggest issue is what do you do when you just don’t have it. Do you push through no matter, or do you take a moment?
I think many of us, given the work culture we might be living in push through, am I right? I mean it’s hard even when you don’t feel well laying on the couch your brain is going over a long list of to-dos and fearing what you are missing. You know if you miss a day the list is SO LONG when you get back, right? Great so now you aren’t feeling well and are riddled with anxiety. Why?
If you push through when you aren’t feeling well or don’t have the energy or creativity you normally would, I have a question. Are you really doing your best work? Of course, you aren’t, depending on how down you are you might not even be 50% of your best. If your brain is sending you messages to stop, do yourself a favor and listen.
I hear you out there, what about my clients? I guarantee if given the choice between 50% of your best on time or 100% of your best a few days later the answer is overwhelmingly 100% of your best a few days later. So, if it’s sleep you need or just a half day break to get those creative juices flowing again take it. Take that break and come back at your full self and things will be AMAZING!
