As we are getting near to closing out another month, I am here to remind you (and me) that it’s not all on us. It seems we get near times like the end of a month everyone needs you for something right? That list of things that needs to get done like yesterday never ends, Heck it might even be duplicating. It might seem like it but it’s not all on you.
What the heck do I mean cause if you don’t do it, no one will. Totally feel that and eventually it will all get done but you don’t have to get crushed in the process. You know what your needs are, what your job or jobs are. You work diligently to get things done to the best of your ability and things usually work out quite well.
If you stop to think about it when we go from working to get our things done to crazy town is when other people’s “stuff” enters the equation. Not 100% of the case but quite often it is. Maybe they didn’t work so diligently and now a project or month end is coming and panic is ensuing. They come to you “HELP!!”.
Often, we want to help, can help, and should help but this is where the subject of this blog comes into play- it’s not all on you. Maybe you have heard this saying “Failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.” On the surface it seems kind of mean, right? Kind of makes you feel like you should leave someone out in the cold.
Not the case, I take it as helping shouldn’t cost your energy or wellbeing. Sure, sometimes pitching in and helping someone is going to make you tired but it shouldn’t drain you. You need to look out for other people sure, but also for your wellbeing. After all, if you spread yourself too thin you won’t be able to SHINE BRIGHT! So, take care of others but more importantly yourself. Much Love!!
