I know we have all heard the phrase the line between point a and point b is not straight. Truer is the fact that as we grow up, we learn the line is not straight between most points. The key I think is what we do with that knowledge, even more so how we pass it on.
We hear a lot of things along the way that we must pay our dues, life isn’t fair, people need to learn on their own and to a certain extend some of that is very true. Life is in fact not always fair and if you don’t do some real life learning you are going to be in trouble.
So how does that mix with what I said earlier about passing on the knowledge that lines in life are not straight if I say people must learn on their own? Well, you can’t walk in the shoes of the people in your life, but you can help to shape how they look at the path they are on. You can let them know about some points on your line that were not straight and more importantly how you still made it to the destination you were headed to.
Letting people know that it might take 2 left turns, 6 right turns, up 3 hills and countless stoplights to get where they want to go can help shape their determination. Especially knowing that EVERYONE has crazy trips like that even if they won’t admit it. Key is with focus, work, and determination they didn’t let any of those delays stop them. You would be surprised how just knowing someone isn’t alone in their struggles can help them to move forward.
So, share examples and stories of how your life line is not straight. It might be hard but that type of honesty and connection can help others thrive. Shine Bight and Much Love!
