They say don’t sweat the small stuff but don’t forget it either. The original saying is basically talking about not letting those small annoyances get you down, and that is true you should not. Think of the flip side by not forgetting about the small things that bring you joy.
It is easy to get bogged down in all the small things that could be negative and slow you down. You stop and fix them, build off them, correct them or just get past them and zoom you are back on track. Great, but what about the good things you zoom right past?
That morning cup of coffee that is particularly delicious this morning, did you gulp it down to move on to your “to do list” or did you take 5 minutes and enjoy it before setting off on your day? As I sit here, breaking my own thought train or “rule” on this subject by eating my lunch while I am writing, I say go ahead and enjoy that lunch break. Go outside, eat with friends, and just enjoy!
The big picture is the fact that it is made up by the numerous small things in life. Being aware and enjoying the good things no matter how small as they come around can improve your outlook. Can change that “how am I going to manage” stressed outlook to “ok let’s attack this list one by one” and it will work out great.
So, take those moments, enjoy the special treats that come along and use them as motivation to make your life SHINE! Much love!
