I don’t know about you, but man does it feel like we’ve been treading water in the deep end for EVER!! I mean we’ve been in a pandemic for how long now…what day is it anyway? We’ve seen homes burning, flooded, torn apart by earthquake and folks running for safety from all corners of the globe. Knowing the whole time these things are causing or amplifying people being hungry, sick, homeless, and scared.
Intense right? Deep end swimming for sure and that gets absolutely tiring because it seems like every which way you turn; we hear about some other sort of struggle that someone you know is going through or watching as groups of people are struck by some sort of disaster.
So how do you keep swimming right? Avoid getting those cramps that stop you from being able to kick your way along? This is going to sound harsh, but you must bring it back to you and your path to get out of the proverbial deep end. Does that mean you stop caring, helping, or looking out for others, NO of course it doesn’t but if you drown in the deep end how are you going to help?
The key is to attack your plan to help others in a manageable way. If you let the news stories, images and others’ opinions on the world overwhelm you there is no way you can paddle your way to the shallow end where you can stand up. If you can get out of the deep end and stand up you can move forward in your plan for yourself, your family, and your community. You can seek out the ways you can help others whether it be donating food to those who are hungry, teaching someone so they can pass their GED and get a better job for their family or help organizations build housing.
Yes, there are a lot of options out there to help and that can be overwhelming as well. What are you passionate about? Use that fuel to start your plan, if you find groups that are helping others in those areas it will carry you forward. If we all do that imagine the fuel to help the world in so many ways, that passion would be contagious, and man will you and the world SHINE! Just imagine it 😊 Much Love!
